I built many of the backgrounds (Including a this glimpse of the treehouse) in 3D using ZBrush Core. I also built a model of the lead character, Serafina. 99% of the time I just use her 3D as a base guide for the illustration. This image is one of a few that was completely made in 3D. Composited and edited in Photoshop.

Awe, isn’t it cute?
I just finished yet another page of the graphic novel. I’ve been avoiding working on these pages because I had no idea how I could create an entire library for these panels. I mean, that’s a lot of books to draw! So I used my 3D skills and built this library in ZBrush. I couldn’t be happier with the results. The entire page looks pretty great.

When I finish a page of my graphic novel.

This was a cool project I did a couple of years ago with the Speakeasy art gallery in Boonton NJ. Kids drew their “Coolest Toy Ever” and select artists brought it to life. Here is my interpretation of Bluey.

A project from many years ago.
